When To Go: St. Kitts at its best
Average temperatures fall between 72 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit year-round, and you'll find the prime tourism season between December and April.
Note: Avoid hurricane season, which lasts from June through the end of November.
What To Do
With crystal blue waters to one side and an eye-opening volcano covered with lush tropical foliage to the other, you'll find golfing on one of St. Kitts' championship golf courses a real treat. Check out the St. Kitts Royal Golf Club, but beware on holes 15, 16, and 17 -- lest you lose your ball in the Atlantic Ocean!
Hop aboard one of St. Kitts' many catamarans for a day on the water of snorkeling and exploring the vibrant sea life. Many tours will take you to the neighboring island, Nevis for a day where you can swim with the fishes and explore the reef. Many packages include all the equipment for a day of snorkeling and some even offer a barbecue lunch on the beach. How's that for island life?
For a meal as perfect as St. Kitts, make a reservation at Rawlins Plantation Hotel & Restaurant (RawlinsPlantation.com), a former sugar cane plantation set on Mount Liamuiga. There, you'll find a tantalizing menu of West Indian cuisine. At lunch it's a West Indian buffet. And in the evenings, you'll find a fixed four-course menu made of fresh local ingredients.
