Alison & John in Pittsboro, NC
The garden where the ceremony took place was framed by a perennial border accented with English dovecote. The couple stood under an arbor of orange, yellow, and deep purple flowers.
The bride and her bridesmaids carried bouquets of red hydrangeas, orange and Black Forest mini calla lilies, hypericum berries, Oberon freesia, and Konfetti roses. The six bridesmaids wore strapless black A-line gowns made of chiffon that were accented at the waist by a black satin ribbon with a chiffon flower at the back.
Alison was clad in a beaded A-line gown.
The couple cut into a three-tiered hexagonal lemon pound cake that was decorated with ivory buttercream icing and their mango-colored monogram.
After guests had their fill of the southern-inspired menu, the dancing kicked off as Alison and John took to the floor to “Endless Love” by Lionel Richie.

If John Smith had let a competitive spirit get the better of him, or if Alison Young had been born on a different day, who knows if these two coworkers would have ever gotten together? Their courtship began over break room ping-pong matches, which John claims to have let Alison win, and birthday drinks (they were born the same week).

The Bride Alison Young, 26,
The Groom John Smith, 27
The Date October 16

When it was time to propose, John chose to stick with the business-based milestones: He dropped to one knee on a snow-capped mountaintop during a work ski trip to Snowshoe, West Virginia.
