Heather & Christopher in Pienza, Italy
The ceremony took place at Sant‘Anna in Camprena, a former monastery. Half of their 130 guests traveled to Italy from the U.S., many for the first time.
As a sentimental touch, the couple wrote the Italian celebration ceremony, which involved friends and family. (The were legally wed in the U.S.)
In order to personalize the event, Heather designed and assembled many of the wedding details, including the table cards, programs, and menus, all with beautiful calligraphy.
Heather‘s lace gown featured a wide pink sash, which inspired the wedding‘s pink and green palette. She carried a bouquet in shades of pink and green featuring roses and peonies.
The centerpieces took on the same colors and mix of blooms as in the bridal bouquet.
White votive candles lit the tables, creating a warm glow beside the majestic Sant‘Anna.

Heather and Christopher knew Italy was the perfect location for their wedding -- after all, that's where they met and fell in love (both had coincidentally moved to Rome from the U.S., he from Los Angeles, she from Boston). The pair chose Tuscany because of its romantic and exotic nature -- not to mention that its the perfect place to throw a great party for their friends and family! The festivities kicked off with a birthday party for Christopher's father on Wednesday night, and continued through the weekend with a Thursday lunch and Friday evening rehearsal.
