Lindsay & Thomas in Block Island, RI
The church ceremony featured simple decor, such as white flowers in galvanized pails.
In light blue dresses, the bridesmaid carried peony and rose bouquets complete with shells.
A seashell added texture and a beachy twist to a traditional boutonniere.
Several low, small floral arrangements and coral frames displaying the table names added visual interest to the sophisticated tables.
The white, three-tiered, round cake received a kick of color from hydrangeas and berries in the wedding‘s colors.
Menu cards, imprinted with seashell and lighthouse motifs, did double duty as place cards.
Seashells, direct from the seashore, indicated where guests could find their tables at the reception.

It was hard for Lindsay to convince Thomas to throw a Block Island destination wedding. Yes, it's where she spent her summers growing up, and the island's classically New England chic style suited them to a tee, but the pair also met in Providence, making the entire state of Rhode Island close to their hearts. Shell accents and a lighthouse motif (the island is dotted with seafaring landmarks) captured the essence of the wedding location, while a modern -- not to be confused with patriotic -- color scheme of red, white, and light blue pulled it all together at the Spring House Hotel.
