The Park Avenue Club has two glass-encased pavilions, so Allison and Mike decided to use the smaller one for their ceremony and the larger for their reception.

The aisle was lined with shepherd’s hooks from which mini white pomanders were suspended.

Black bridesmaid dresses and white pomanders complemented the wedding‘s black-and-white color palette.

Allison and Mike wanted something a little more out of the ordinary than floral arrangements on their tables, so they opted for frosted, pillar vase centerpieces filled with black stones and curly willow, birch, and Matsumoto branches painted black, white, and silver and hung with crystals.

The four-tiered, octagon-shaped, chocolate cake was flavored with mocha filling and frosted with white buttercream.

Allison Richards was out at a bar in Boston when she noticed a handsome man in a suit. Michael (Mike) Bogart was that suited man, and he and a friend soon joined Allison and her friends in conversation.

Allison and Mike hit it off, though after teasing him for being overdressed, she wasn’t sure he’d ask for her number. He did, however, and when the two went out together days later, Allison was surprised by Mike’s attire. “Again, he showed up in a suit!” she says. “I worried there might not be a casual side to him.” But during dinner, they discovered they had plenty of shared interests, from snowboarding to motorcycles. “Soon after our first date we were cruising around Boston on his Harley,” Allison says. Mike proposed just before the couple closed the deal on buying their first home together, and they were married nine months later.
