Wedding Planning - Wedding Dresses - Wedding Cakes

Becky & Josh in Mission Hills, KS
Becky and Josh exchanged vows in a colonial-style brick church featuring white columns and large sunny windows. Two large floral wreaths made up of green hydrangeas and bright pink peonies hung on the doors to the church.
Becky’s seven bridesmaids wore strapless, watermelon pink, knee-length dresses for the wedding day. To complete their spring look, they each carried a cluster of green hydrangeas accented with white peonies and pink astilbe.
Josh’s guys wore green hydrangea boutonnieres wrapped in pink fabric to match the bridesmaid dresses. Josh stood out from the crowd with a white peony bud on his lapel.
The reception unfolded at a nearby country club. Instead of a groom’s cake, the couple ordered Josh’s favorite, blue cheese burgers and mini milkshakes for all the guests to enjoy late in the evening.
The couple chose a tall, five-tiered, buttercream cake decorated with sugar paste dogwood flowers. The delectable confection was made up of white cake with alternating mocha chocolate and pink raspberry fillings.
Becky designed all the reception stationery, including the place cards, table numbers, and menus. As favors, she slipped a card with a picture of her dog, Roxie, into the menus. The cards informed guests that in lieu of favors Becky and Josh had made a donation to Wayside Waifs to improve the quality of animal welfare.

The two had just finished a meal of grilled burgers and beer at home when Josh asked Becky if she’d like him to fill her glass. When he walked back into the room, Becky noticed he wasn’t holding the same glass she had been using and that it was etched with what would be her married monogram. Josh then turned the glass around to reveal his question etched into the glass: “Will you marry me?” Becky said yes, and that’s when Becky’s dog, Roxie, made a surprise appearance with a big pink bow and a ring tied around her neck. “Roxie and Josh had been practicing all day,” Becky says.
