Almost two years after meeting as neighbors in college, Eric popped the question with Tara unwittingly planning most of the engagement evening. For Tara's birthday (which was also Christmas Eve), she picked out the restaurant where she wanted to celebrate. Once they got there, Tara started to piece things together when she simultaneously noticed that Eric was especially dressed up, a waiter brought them a bottle of champagne she hadn't ordered, and more waitstaff were peering around the corner at them. "I panicked and looked around, and when I looked back at Eric, there was a box on the table and he was down on one knee," remembers Tara happily.
