Heather & Timothy in Lafayette, LA
Heather’s bouquet was an elegant mixture of green hydrangeas, ivory orchids, white and ivory roses, and white lilies all tied together with an ivory silk ribbon and finished off with three simple pearl pins.
Tim and his groomsmen donned simple ivory orchids on their lapels for the wedding day. Orchid corsages were also given to the honored parents and grandparents.
The afternoon ceremony took place at St. Mary Mother of the Church. The pews were adorned with white lilies and the altar was decorated with two arrangements that mimicked the bridal party’s bouquets.
Heather’s four bridesmaids each wore a black V-neck, knee-length dress from Nine West with a silk bow tied around the waist for added drama.
Each place was set with a silver charger, an ivory silk napkin, and a menu card printed on black and ivory paisley paper. Green apple candles with leaf-shaped tags took the place of traditional escort cards.
The table arrangements were tall and elegant, boasting silver candelabras and lush, cascading flowers. Candles added a soft glow to the space.
The three-tiered, hexagonal, ivory cake was covered in sugar hydrangea blossoms. The inside was just as sweet, made of almond cake with various fillings including pecan pie and Bavarian cream.
Heather filled favor boxes with ivory jelly beans and sealed the boxes with sage ribbon and attached a thank-you. In addition to the favor boxes, guests took home their apple candle escort cards.

Heather Keene and Timothy Thomas planned to celebrate their five-year anniversary with a simple dinner out on the town. As the two were walking back to their car after their meal, Timothy knelt down in the middle of the parking lot and proposed. “I know it wasn’t the most romantic thing ever but it was just the right timing,” says Tim.

The Groom Timothy Thomas, 26
The Date February 2

For their February wedding, the couple called upon a wedding planner to help carry out all the details. The theme for the day was simple elegance, and the couple used a color palette of sage green, cream, white, and touches of black to fit with the season.
