Sue & Keith in Boston, MA
Sue’s favorite floral arrangement of the day was her cascading bouquet of phalaenopsis orchids, the perfect complement to her gown.
Sue’s bridesmaids carried cream bouquets with hints of fig-colored mini calla lilies.
Sue’s three bridesmaids wore strapless, floor-length dresses from Vera Wang in a color called “Fig.”
During the reception, Sue and Keith’s guests sat at round tables dressed in ivory linens with gold overlays. At the center of each table, white dendrobium orchid stems were arranged in a series of bud vases atop a mirror, and votive candles added a soft glow to complete the look.
Sue and Keith chose small silver frames to hold the escort cards, which were designed with script lettering on ecru paper.
Sue and Keith’s monogram adorned the menu cards, which rested on folded napkins in the centers of the place settings.
Sue and Keith showed off choreographed moves to their first dance song, “Lady” by Kenny Rogers.
Sue and Keith’s four-tier Grand Marnier-laced wedding cake was topped with buttercream and phalaenopsis orchids made from sugar.
With no air-conditioning in the church and the temperature reaching 90 degrees, Sue and Keith’s guests put their sandalwood fan favors to good use.

From the moment Sue laid eyes on Keith at a ’70s and ’80s–themed costume party, she knew she had to meet him. “I was mesmerized by Keith as he discoed to the Bee Gees in his polyester getup,” she remembers. “And Keith says he noticed me and my big hair immediately.” The two chatted for hours at the party, and before the night was over they’d made plans for a first date.

Seven years later, on a weekend getaway to Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, they rented a boat and headed out to do a bit of swimming with their recently adopted puppy. “Keith pulled out a dog treat container, shaped like a giant Milk-Bone, and asked me to put a few dog treats in it,” Sue says. Though the treats were safe and dry in a zippered pouch, she complied and opened the container. “To my total surprise, there was a ring inside, and when I looked up, Keith was down on one knee,” she says. They married two years later in an elegant, orchid-filled celebration in Boston.
