Annie & David in Key West, FL
Annie carried a nosegay of pincushion, hypericum berries and James Story orchids for a fall-inspired look with a tropical twist.
The groom wore a shell filled with Vanda orchids backed for a fresh look that fit the wedding‘s casual vibe.
David sported seersucker pants and a linen jacket while his five groomsmen kept cool in matching linen pants and shirts. The groom gave each of his guys a set of vintage flamingo cufflinks to match his own.
Annie wanted everything about her wedding to be unique, including her hair. "I was going after this, ‘Scandinavian meadow couture look,’" she says, which included an intricate braid design.
Annie and David thought they’d be exchanging their self-written vows indoors due to rain, but the sun came out at the last minute. They said, "I do" on the porch steps as originally planned.
White chocolate slats covered the three-tiered cake with tropical mango, Key lime and raspberry filling. Annie wanted her cake to suit her minimalist, architectural style.

Annie and David have a mutual friend to thank for "putting them in the same room" as the couple likes to say, during a Christmas party in 2006. It didn't take an outside introduction for Annie and David to catch each other's interest. By the end of the night, David was serenading Annie at a karaoke bar, and the rest is history. "We were pretty much in love," says Annie of their first meeting. "We are truly the most perfect people for each other."

The Date November 8

One year later, Annie was heading to Ohio for Christmas to see her family and David dropped by Annie's apartment to deliver her gift. When he handed her a large box, Annie immediately noticed how light it was but tried not to get too excited. After digging through layers of ribbon, gift-wrap and tissue paper, she finally came across a small ring box. As soon as the box touched Annie's hand, David popped the question -- almost exactly a year after he hit just the right note at the Christmas party. Even though they live in New York, the couple decided to marry in Key West because Annie spent much of her life there and always loved the city's "great attitude about life." She combined fall colors with the spirit of Key West with a green, orange and espresso palette.
