HOW WE MET Met through a common friend in Quezon City, May 1992. Vey started the courtship a few days after we met. I didn't really like it that way. Besides, he wasn't my type then. The ideal relationship for me is something which has friendship as the foundation. Vey was turned down twice. Once on 1992 and second time on 1994. However, our friendship blossomed on 1995. Both of us never thought we'd still end up together. Vey just wanted to be friends at least. After 4 years of persistence... on October 22, 1996, Vey became my HONEYTABACHINGCHING and I became his HONEYMITCHIETAMAKULITA. We were together since then.....now, we call each other SWEETIE... he calls me MOOCHIE or MOOCHOO... and we're fondly called MITCHIEVEY by our friends. WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED January 10, 2004 HOW IT HAPPENED Well, there wasn't really a formal proposal that happened. We've been talking about the wedding for years already and we were actually planning to get married on February 2005. Vey just started talking to his parents about our plans and then .. next thing I knew, they already set a date. Of course, my family got excited as well. They've been pressuring us to get married. We thought that everything was starting to fall into place. Unfortunately, a lot of tragedies came our way ... First, my grandmother (father side) passed away early this year. Next, Vey's father was diagnosed to have Colon Cancer on May 2004. At first, I wanted to cancel the wedding. I prayed for his recovery... I was willing to postpone the wedding even for another 2 to 3 years in exchange for Papa Romy's longer life. His dad and the whole family wanted to pursue the wedding plans despite of this. Everybody was crying almost everyday... it was really a sad moment. That gave me the thought of putting the wedding plans aside. It was really heartbreaking because the most excited person about the wedding was his dad. He was even preparing for his speech for the wedding day as early as the first quarter of 2004. He was the one who spread the word.. he was very proud that his son will be getting married on 2005. Even a few weeks before his death... he told Vey that whatever happens, we should not postpone the wedding. He even made a promise that he will be walking the aisle with Vey on January 7, 2005. Maybe God didn't want to prolong the agony of his dad and the rest of the family.... his dad passed away on July 2, 2004. Another tragedy came our way...my grandmother (mother side) died last August 4. She used to tell me that I'm so lucky to have Vey and that I should never let him go.. she is certainly fond of Vey. I know that she was excited to walk down the aisle on our wedding day.. but then, we're sure that she is happy wherever she's at right now. Anyway, all of those close to us, physically or in spirit, will definitely celebrate with us on that special day we've been waiting for...our wedding day. WHEN & WHERE January 7, 2005
Quezon City, Philippines ABOUT THE BIG DAY The wedding ceremony will be held at the National Shrine of our Lady of Lourdes in Quezon City. This church has been a great part of our relationship. We've been attending mass in this church even before we got together..when we were just buddies..when we were at the courting stage..and through the years we've been together as "Sweeties". Reception will follow at Solea Garden, Quezon City. We’ve always dreamt of having a garden wedding…this why this place is the perfect venue for us.
Our wedding theme is "butterflies and flowers". Why butterfly? This is a representation of Papa Romy's presence on that special day. A promise is a promise... he will be there in spirit. Why flowers? Flowers symbolize devotion, friendship, eternal fidelity and steadfast love.
Our motif is light blue and yellow.
