ABOUT LAURA
So here's the basics... I'm 27, live in Canton, Georgia, and I'm a special ed teacher. You probably want to here more specifics though. Well, I've grown up in Georgia all my life. So in a nutshell, I'm your typical Georgia Peach. I love southern food, music, and just the basic slow it down pace. I went to Breanu University (All Girls School) where I was in the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, won Miss Brenau and went on to get my Bachelors in Education and then went on to begin teaching. So far I've lasted 4 years. Who knows how many more! I love kids though, and although some days I feel like I'm just a broken record (Stop it...Stop it... STOP IT), I do love my job. I have a GREAT Family, which I adore, I have two older sisters, who are both married, as well as one heck of a cute nephew, Drew bear and who can forget my adorable niece, Annagrace!!! ! And then there is my mom and dad, who are probably two of the most giving people I know.. and I love them dearly! Another thing I love is Law and Order, Audrey Hepburn.. ok let me just sum everything up with a few of my likes and dislikes. I love coffee, but only hot. I do not love chocolate and peanut butter mixed together (it just seems unnatural). I love wine, but I do not love tequila (or maybe it just doesn't love me). I love animals; however, if they have eight legs, I'm not a fan. So there you go...I little bit about me!
ABOUT ERIC
Eric is 28 years old, originally from Dalton, GA, but now living in Canton, GA where he is a Communications major at Kennesaw State University. He has a really cool job as a Communication Coordinator for a company called AESI and also works part-time as a Realtor. He has a huge family and almost all of them are in Dalton. And, a 2 year old nephew named Everett. His Family is great and just has awesome parents (Jimmy & Janice)! Eric and I have two dogs, Logan and Andy. HOW WE MET
The short condensed version..Years and Years ago at a wedding, 2001 actually! Eric went with Amanda as her date and I went by myself! He asked me to dance using a cheesy line and I accepted. Then later on we started to irritate each other, but in a good way. So, I got intrigued!!! He later emailed me a few days later asking me for my phone number, called me and asked me to dinner. The date didn't go as good as I would of hoped and we parted for a good few years. Then in 2004 we met again.. this time at his house after a party he and Amanda had thrown. And, thankfully the old spark from our old flame was still burning... He called me a few days later, asked me out and.. here we are today!

HOW IT HAPPENED
Well, on a beautiful day in April I packed for a trip to the beach with my mom and my sister. Since it was my Spring Break, I was at Eric's house and he helped me make sure I had everything I needed. Then we went downstairs and celebrated his birthday. After all the celebration, we went to bed, and I went to sleep. At least I tried. See, this was a little difficult, because Eric kept getting up and every time he got out of the bed, I woke up. By 2:30 I was exhausted and ticked and when he woke me up at 2:50, I was just annoyed.
I was annoyed until we got to the living room. Here Eric sat me down and said he had something he wanted to show me and that there was something he hadn't been honest with me about. When I heard the last line, I think my heart skipped a beat. Is he fixing to tell me he has another girlfriend he sees on the weekdays. Has he just been kidding me when he's talked about getting married and now he's going to say he doesn't. The video comes on and I find out that EVERYONE has lied to me. I am not going on vacation with my family. I am going to some undisclosed location with Eric for the weekend and I have about an hour to get ready.
Long story short, I rush upstairs, shower, change, and then we're off to the airport. After checking our luggage Eric finally reveals to me that we are going to Jamaica. This is exciting for two reasons. One, I'm going to Jamaica (enough said). Two, I've never been out of the country before. When we got to Jamaica it felt great! The air was warm, but the humity was low. We checked into our hotel, got a drink, and then went to the beach. Later that evening we got ready to go to dinner. We still had about an hour and a half until our reservations, so Eric suggested that we go and sit on the beach and watch the sunset.
When we got to the beach we went way down on the end where no one was located. We sat on a lounge chair and just started talking. The sunset was beautiful and I just keep going on and on. Eric finally got up and walk to the edge of the water. I, of course, kept talking. Then he turned around and walked up to me and kissed me. He said that he loved me and that "there was one thing that could make this better." Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I couldn't believe it. We had talked about this. I had wanted this for so long, but I had no idea that it was coming. Instead of saying yes, the first words out of my mouth were "Are you serious?!?" Then he showed me the ring and I said "YES!" This was one of the happiest moments of my life. Not because I'm engaged and getting married, but because the man I love, loves me back and wants to spend the rest of his life with me.
So there you go. One of the best perposal stories ever. And "Yes Virginia..." good things do come to those who wait. Even when it seems like your day and your one will never come. They are there, and when the day does come, it will be worth the wait.
