ABOUT DEANNA
I'm a Nursing student at the LSU School of Nursing in New Orleans. I will graduate as a R.N. with my B.S. in Nursing in May 2007.
ABOUT RYAN
Ryan graduated from LSU with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering in May 2004. He works for the Lockheed Martin Michoud Plant (NASA) in New Orleans. He bought a brand new house in Slidell this past summer. Ryan is also working towards his Masters degree at UNO.
HOW WE MET
We were both members of the LSU Golden Band from Tiger Land. Ryan played trombone and DeAnna played clarinet. One day, someone was absent for their halftime spot. DeAnna got put in their spot...which happened to be 2 people down from Ryan! Ryan came over and introduced himself. That same day, DeAnna saw Ryan at her dorm while he was dropping off his best friend from band practice. From that day, DeAnna and Ryan became friends and eventually started dating...after a long soap opera-like couple of months!
WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED

HOW IT HAPPENED
Ryan had called DeAnna's grandmother to ask her to set up a meeting with a jeweler friend of hers. Ryan and DeAnna's grandmother met one day and Ryan picked out the ring. He then headed to DeAnna's house to ask her dad if it was ok for him to propose to her. September 11 was the Alumni Band weekend. Ryan had contacted the band directors to set up the proposal for that day. After practice, the band director called Ryan up to the front of the band...and then DeAnna. Ryan got on a knee, took the microphone, and in front of about 1,000 people, told DeAnna that he wanted to marry her! Ryan had also managed to get DeAnna's family there without them knowing what was going on...only her dad and grandmother knew...although it was later discovered that the rumors had been flying all week!

The ceremony will be at University Methodist Church at LSU at 1:30. The reception will follow at Stage 1 from 3:00-6:00.
