With love to all, Steve & Jennifer

"In Her Words"
We not only admit it... we absolutely recommend it! We met on the Internet!
At a fabulous christian website called, www.LoveandSeek.com. It
was my first day on the site. Steve scrolled through page after page of
ladies who were online at the time. As the mouse moved over
description after description and every possible photo...Steve stumbled
head long into my photo and profile. (Thank God!) I love how he tells
people..."I scrolled right past her and then said..."Whoa!! Whoa!! What
was that? And scrolled right back up to her picture." He says he stared
at me for a while...and then said, "Oh no Steve, this one is out of our
league." Ok what's more charming to a girl than that?????

True to his stature as a brave man, minutes later he sent a quick "flirt" of an
email...we're talking really small email here girls! Of course, I responded
to him. Wny not? He looked charming, handsome... and well, he was
about to break my big "Plan" (oh I cringe when I say this) of "playing the
field" for a long while.

There is something about "PLANS" that just begs to be messed with. I once
heard someone say, "If you want to give God a good laugh, make a
plan." Apparently, the Lord was having a tremdous laugh at this one.

After weeks of great emailing and funny instant messaging...we started
talking on the telephone. The first call, his NY accent was so
strong..well, you ask him what I thought of him... even he said after he
hung up, "Oh she'll never talk to me again." But honey he is one of a
kind...I was drawn to him. And I can tell you, the next phone call we
had was the MOST intriguing I've ever experienced. He became completely irrisistable!
Over the next few weeks, it began to feel like God had something special for
the two of us. So, after a month of talking... we decided to meet, to be
sure of what we felt. (Because there's nothing worse than loving that
voice on the telephone... completely digging the emails he writes, and
adoring the guy in every way. Only to meet him for the first time and
realize he has B.O., horrible teeth...and the photo he had online was of
the model he found in the frame he bought at the local drug store....Steve
can tell you stories about girls who did the same thing! UGH!!)

Steve, flew to San Francisco to meet me for the first time. I think my favorite
part of the story is when he arrived. He picked up the cell phone as he
disembarked the plane..."Im nearly at the security gate...but I don't see
you." he said. "Im off to the side." I replied as I slowly shifted into the
main walk area ( I was trying to stay out of sight...I wanted to see him
first so I could size him up! Again, my plan failed.) "I see you." he
said. "I see you too." I said grinning. "Hang up the phone." he replied
flattly. I did. And in what felt like a blurr...he disappeared into a sea of
people for what felt like eternity but was probably only 15 seconds. In
a moment that felt like a Meg Ryan romantic chick flick, the people
suddenly seemed to part in front of me and there he was...tall, charming,
handsome...smelling nothing like B.O., only amazing cologne. (Cologne
this good should be illegal!) Grateful to finally put it all together, and so
happy that we were actually attracted to each other in person
(whew!)...we hugged for a long time. It was right that moment, that we
began a date that would...for us... last a lifetime!

WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED April 13, 2005 HOW IT HAPPENED

"In His Words"
She was scheduled to go on a flight to see her folks who live in California on
a JetBlue flight. I had been working behind the scenes for about a month
trying to surprise her. She couldnt understand, if I had vacation from the
12th through the 23rd of April, why I had to remain behind and couldn't
come with her.

Being a police officer, and by law able to use trickery and
deception...hahaha, I drafted a fake memo from my Captain stating that I
had received a long awaited position in our police academy that would
give me steady weekends off. It would give me the leverage I would
need to explain why I couldnt make the trip with her (we've been praying
for this kind of position for such a long time, so it was the perfect
excuse).

In the meantime, I had coordinated with jet blue to a) move her seat on the
flight to up front first row b) to give me the seat right next to hers w/out
her knowing c) allow me to come on board the plane in full uniform (she
thought I was working) to propose after everyone was boarded and
seated and do it over the microphone d) to then, take off my uniform,
jacket w/badge..uniform shirt..and gun belt, hand them to a fellow
Sgt...and take my seat next to her Matthew and fly off to visit with her
folks.

Everything went better than expected! And as iciing on the cake,
unbeknownst to me, my cops had lined both sides of the plane (as it
was taxiing toward the runway for takeoff) where they stood at
attention, with their police cars. A few hundred yards further, they also
had our emergency crash fire rescue trucks, on either side of the plane.
As we passed underneath on the way to the runway, the trucks shot a
water arch over the plane. And as if God himself saluted the
evening...our flight literally took off into the sunset. How completely
Romantic!! We feel not only honored by the fine people who helped make
the day incredible but truly grateful for an engagement story that will
stand out in our memories for the rest of our lives. God is so good to us!
