Newlyweds for 1326 days!
HOW WE MET
The summer of 2003 was our first meeting. I came to work at Twin Rocks Friends Camp on the Oregon Coast directly after my trip to Australia. Jet lagged and very new to the environment, I did not quite notice Nate that first week of orientation. He, on the other hand, had just driven across the country from Pennsylvania where he had previously found out about this camp online. He and his friends took turns driving to Oregon in hopes of a good summer work experience. As we were both tired from our various adventures, we didn't quite notice each other at first, but it didn't take long for us both to realize that we had found a lifelong friend.
That summer has remained one of our best times in life!
We stayed good friends for 2 years and would occassionally visit each other on either coast. It wasn't until 2005 that we finally got together. After dating for only 3 months, we knew there was no need to postpone marriage any further! We were soon engaged on Dec. 3, 2005 just before I flew to Michigan to spend Christmas with him and his family.

HOW IT HAPPENED
One Snowy night in McCall Idaho, Nate took me out on a "Pre-birthday" date. We trekked through the thick snow on snow shoes late at night with only our head lamps and the moon to light the way. As we came into a clearing in the woods a flash of lights came on! There before us was a camping tent with lights illuminating the outside and inside!
Inside the tent Nate had set out a nice dinner (made by Sara Walker) and turned nice music on from his computer. (all of these things had been previously stashed in the tent!). As we ate dinner, he handed me my birthday gifts. To appear not too anxious, he first gave me his gifts from his parents. Then he handed me a tall box. It was a DVD! But not just that, it was empty inside with only a beautiful ring tapped in the center!!
He asked me to marry him and I of course said YES!

ABOUT THE BIG DAY
Our wedding will be outdoors in a beautiful 28 acre garden! The name of it is Greengable Gardens. And it is in a nearby town, Philomath. To see pictures of the garden go to greengable.com
We chose an outdoor venue as we both have a great love for the outdoors! The house on the garden was built in the 30's and looks very original to it's time period. We hope that you will feel blessed by the beauty of this garden and enchanting music that will follow you along the pathways to the ceremony!
