ABOUT DANIELLE
Danielle graduated from college with degrees in Applied Psychology & Sociology and is currently working full-time as a Rehabilitation Specialist at a group home for Keystone Residence in Lancaster, Pa. She serves adults with mental illness. Danielle is presently looking for a job in Virginia in the social service field and hopes to return to school for her Masters in Mental Health Counseling within the next few years.
ABOUT GEOFF
Geoff graduated from Cedarville University with a degree in Political Science . He is presently finishing up his second semester of the Master's program in Public Policy at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA. He will be interning with the Government Accounting Office in Norfolk, VA this summer.
HOW WE MET
Geoff and I met at Cedarville University our freshman year because we were both part of the campus Gospel Choir. We had the opportunity to volunteer at King's Island (amusement park in the area) instead of paying choir dues and Geoff and I happened to be in the same group. We had a class together second semester and talked once in awhile, but I'd say we were only casual acquaintances after our freshman year. Sophmore year we went back to King's Island with two other guys because we had received free tickets for volunteering there the year before. On one of the rollercoasters (The Beast) Geoff elbowed me in the left temple and gave me a concussion (which I found out a few days later). Lets just say he made quite an impression ;) So through that common bond and participating in a ministry group together Sophmore year, we got to know each other better and better; we began dating March 11, 2004.
WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED

HOW IT HAPPENED
Geoff and I were down in Virginia Beach for the weekend apartment searching for me since I was set to begin my Masters program at Regent University this fall. We looked at apartments all day, then Geoff surprised me with dinner at Orion's Restaurant, this fancy place on the 11th floor of a restaurant right on VA Beach. (Orion's was particularly special to us because we enjoy star-gazing together, and Orion is our favorite constellation). We had a delicious dinner, then decided to take a walk on the beach. We walked and walked along the water until Geoff "randomly" decided we should walk up in the dry sand for awhile. We walked a few feet, then he stopped and pulled me into a tight embrace (during which I could tell he was really nervous); he suddenly was down on one knee in the sand, telling me he had a question to ask me... he told me that he loved me and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me... I obviously said YES and that I loved him too (the first time we had exchanged those 3 words). We hugged and kissed and all that mushy stuff, then walked back to the hotel to get the car. One small problem... the car was not there. It had been towed! Something had to go wrong, ya know. So we found out where the car had been towed to (a good 40 blocks or so away) and rode the trolley for a good bit of that, payed the $85 to get it back and were on our way. Trust me though, that did not dampen our mood. Now we're just counting down the days...
