Newlyweds for 1153 days!
HOW WE MET
We met at bible study at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Alexandria, Virginia on January 25, 2006. Christopher, who was then serving as the social chair for the young adults' group, can tell you exactly what Sarah was wearing that day. Sarah remembers Christopher from that day, but had recently moved out to Northern Virginia from DC and was meeting everyone at bible study for the first time.
Christopher and Sarah really connected when they ran into each other again at Theology on Tap at Pat Troy's Ireland's Own Irish pub on February 7, 2006. After the theology talk was over, Sarah and Christopher stayed to talk to each other until after 11pm. They saw each other again at bible study the next day, and Christopher asked Sarah to go on their first date (on Valentines' Day) that weekend. They quickly became very important in each others' lives and started to realize that this was maybe "it."
WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED

HOW IT HAPPENED
Christopher had spoken with both of Sarah's parents while he was spending Thanksgiving with the Grimmer family in Colorado. He surprised Sarah by proposing after bible study on November 29, 2006, in the room where they had first met. Their priest, Fr. JD Jaffe, came up with an excuse to send everyone else out of the room and quickly helped Christopher set up a table with pink roses, champagne, chocolate truffles, and candles. The choir was conveniently practicing Christmas carols in the room next door. Sarah thought that she was walking back to the bible study room with Christopher to pick up something that he forgot and was completely surprised when she saw the candle-lit room. She agreed to marry Christopher in the room where they had met 10 months before.
