Newlyweds for 448 days!
ABOUT ALICE
I am a midwesterner living in the south. Right now I'm living with a family from my church and working as their nanny. When I'm not hanging out with the family, I'm working at Starbucks, cleaning my room, hanging out with the church-folk...oh! and spending time with Aaron.
My favorite things:
drinking coffee
talking with a friend
singing and sometimes writing
riding around town with Aaron.
ABOUT AARON
Aaron is a hardworking, practical guy who comes across rather "artsy." He works for Charter Cable as a technician, which means he videos commercials, and puts tv shows on the air.
When he's not working at Charter, he's a part-time photographer for the Jackson Sun.
Some of Aaron's favorite things:
sitting on his back porch, relaxing with his friends
plucking one of his many stringed instruments
eating left-overs
spending time with ME!
HOW WE MET
Aaron and I went to Union together. Our initial meeting happened after Aaron prank phone called me. You'd better ask him that story though. We became FRIENDS when he helped me with some art projects my senior year of college. For some reason he wanted to stay up late at night to make "art" with me. I thought he was just a really helpful guy...
Then, after a few years, Aaron and I began attending the same church. Through that church we met the Beard family. Aaron and Patrick Beard (the father of that family) became good friends. Months later, I moved into the Beards to become their nanny and BADABING! Aaron and I got to know each other much better.
WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED
May 10, 2008
HOW IT HAPPENED
We were taking a walk at Muse Park (a densely wooded park in Jackson) because the weather was beautiful and just right for taking pictures. After a long walk through the woods, we came to a clearing, and Aaron decided he wanted to take my portrait there. So, to get a "really interesting shot" I was supposed to turn my back to him and when he counted to three I was supposed to turn around with a random emotion on my face. He counted to three four or five times and then the last time, I turned around and he was on his knee with a ring in his hand instead of a camera.
I was so surprised!
WHEN & WHERE
August 30, 2008
Jackson, TN
ABOUT THE BIG DAY
Aaron and I are keeping it short and simple. We want our guests to enjoy themselves! and we hope to have a ceremony that draws attention to Christ.
Our reception will follow across town at Union University's coffee shop "Barefoot's Joe." There, we will have a live band, some snacks and an inflateable room for the kids (or kids at heart) to jump around in.
