Newlyweds for 199 days!
ABOUT MICHALINA
I was born and raised in South Florida, and eventually moved to Gainesville to go to the University of Florida. I am in graduate school in accounting, and will graduate in May of 2009 with my masters. After I graduate, I'm going to get married :-), then move to Atlanta, where I have a job waiting for me.
ABOUT MICHAEL
Mike was born in Hawaii and moved around quite a bit in his early childhood. He moved to Niceville, FL in the third grade and lived there until he graduated high school. In 2000, he left Niceville to attend the University of Florida in Gainesville. In 2005, he graduated with a masters in Exercise and Sport Sciences. SInce then, he has worked with the University of Florida and the Department of Education as an evaluator and consultant for a federally funded after school program. Mike is really excited to start a new life in Atlanta.
HOW WE MET
We met out one night through mutual friends. I was introduced to Mike, and he was fascinated with my Italian name, and told me he was planning to go to Italy in a few months (which he never did). I had just gotten back one week before from spending my summer there, so we had a lot to talk about. Mike also said he loved Italian food, so I agreed to make him ravioli one day (which I still never have). We talked the rest of the night, and a couple days later he called to ask me out to dinner. We went out and had a great time, and I guess the rest is history!
WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED

HOW IT HAPPENED
The short version is that Mike planned a wonderful day of surprises for me, including a picnic in the park, a trip to the butterfly museum, a few hours at the spa, and dinner at a wonderful restaurant. The very last surprise of the day was a proposal, which he planned out so perfectly. He had the house decorated with candles and roses, with music playing in the background. After a few minutes, he got down on one knee,pulled out a fantastic ring, and asked me if I'd make him the luckiest man in the world and marry him. I was in shock, and Mike actually had to ask me again, but I said "of course" and he put the beautiful ring on my finger!

ABOUT THE BIG DAY
The wedding is going to be at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gainesville. The reception will be at The Best Western Gateway Grand, also in Gainesville. It is going to be a blast, and we are so excited for everyone to come be a part of our wonderful day!
