HOW WE MET
We orignially met in high school but we never really talked. We're pretty sure we may have had one class together, but it was Aimee's best friend Allie who noticed John first--she had a crush on him, but shh--Don't tell! We actually really met on myspace. I know--who would have thought!?!?! We had our first "date" at the Barnes and Noble downtown. We talked for hours and it was history from there! Our real first date was amazing. John took me to P.F. Changs downtown and then to see a comedy show. Needless to say, we had a wonderful time and there have been many dates since!
WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED
June 17, 2008
HOW IT HAPPENED
I have to start off saying that John did an amazing job throwing me off. He did such a good job, neither of us knew he was going to propose that day! He had plans to do it at a lakehouse weekend he had planned and then my friend's wedding was that day, so we had to reschedule it twice actually! Yes, I canceled my own engagement twice. It was a few days before we were really supposed to go to the lake and we had gone to a Texas Ranger's game with John's friends from work. John was dropping me off at my apartment and we had actually been having a small little argument on the way home (it was really stupid, we don't even remember what it was about!) so we were sitting outside my apartment . He got up for a second to get something from his truck--I just guessed he was looking for tissues for me. Little did I know the ring he said he didn't have (in order to keep me guessing of course) was in the truck. He came back and asked me how and when I knew I was in love with him. Well, one night we were sitting on the couch at my apartment together and he looked straight in my eyes and said "Some things you just know." And I knew. Then he asked me if I remember our first kiss. How could I forget!!! It was after our 2nd date. He had dropped me off and then I heard a knock on my door a couple minutes later. I open the door and there he is. He asks me to give him my hand. Of course I am stubborn and want to know why he needs my hand. Then he takes my two fingers and places them on his neck. He asks me, "can you feel that?" My response, "Feel what?" Okay, blonde moment there on my part! He replies, "my pulse, is it racing?" Of course it is and I tell him so and then he pulls me in for a kiss. Well, before I know it, he is on one knee telling me how much he loves me and he takes my hand and places my fingers on his neck to once again feel his pulse racing and then I look down and there is a ring and he asked me to marry him. It could not have been more perfect!!!
