ABOUT ERIKA
After escaping from a terrible marriage, Erika put herself into college to be a nurse and only got side-tracked once and became an EMT. She has lived in many different places (Indiana, Michigan, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, etc.) because she wants to see the world one piece at a time. She's a junkie for series fiction novels, dragonflies, horror and thriller films, the color green, all things Celtic, hot teas, punk and classic rock, autumn and the holiday Halloween. She came with a Chorkie (half Chihuahua, half Yorkie) named Moxie Crimefighter. She loves to cook and bake and make her house a home with crafty ideas she steals from Martha. She thinks she's generally a nerd.
ABOUT MARSHALL
Marshall graduated from Indiana University Northwest for computers but loves American history with a passion that can't be fully explained. He plays online poker (and is great at it) and loves baseball (Chicago White Sox) and football in the autumn/winter (Indianapolis Colts). Marshall currently works at Walgreens but has plans to escape. He reads nonfiction books about the early history of the United States as well as historical biographies. A Wii tennis master who can't get enough of Erika's cooking, he listens to classic rock and is an admitted Led Zeppelin addict. Perhaps the year after they marry, he is going to steal her away to Florida where they'll be closer to Disney World and in warmer climes. He knows he's a dork.
HOW WE MET
They actually met online! They were both on one of those silly dating sites for laughs (her for the silly quiz section, him for the chuckles at some of the desperates). Erika saw his profile one afternoon that they were "locally matched" (a little over sixty miles means "local") and she saw that he liked some of the same music that she did. Craftily, she sent him a note testing to see if he was really a fan of Clapton or just making it up -- And then made some other suggestions for his listening pleasure. He asked her out soon after and they went to the Niles Haunted House for their first date. Marshall took Erika for her very first trip to Disney World the following January -- Then asked Erika to move in because he loved waking up next to her.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Marshall and Erika went back to the location of their first date, The Niles Haunted House and while wandering through the "Field of Screams" maze, Marshall pulled Erika aside in one of the dead ends and asked her if this was the exact spot where they had shared their first kiss. Erika told him she thought it was and then Marshall said, "So, will you marry me?" and Erika declaired an emphatic yes -- Even though it was so dark she couldn't see the ring.
