A Modern, Old-Hollywood-Inspired Wedding in Seattle, Washington
Caitlin Schlosser and Marco Puccia wanted to do something different for their wedding celebration. They decided to have a microceremony with 20 of their closest friends and family, followed by a larger reception one month later. The intimate, glamorous nuptials took place at the top of Hotel Sorrento in Seattle, which was built in 1909. The couple decorated the vintage boutique hotel with a color palette of black and gold. A luxe wedding arch with white flowers and greenery framed the ceremony site. It also matched the bouquets carried by Caitlin and her bridesmaids, who wore elegant black gowns. Caitlin stunned in a strapless mermaid-style wedding dress, which she accessorized with a black ostrich feather bolero postceremony. Marco stuck with a classic black tuxedo amped up with a velvet tuxedo jacket. Caitlin and Marco later held a cocktail reception for their friends and family at the Washington Athletic Club. "Our photographer and videographer were so wonderful and able to return our pictures and video in time for our guests at our reception to view later and still feel part of our special day," Caitlin says. Guests sat at dining tables with black linens, ghost chairs and tall centerpieces with white flowers. The couple also had a living wall that served as a photo booth backdrop. "To add to the vintage feel at our reception, our guests were asked to dress in their best 'Old Hollywood' cocktail attire," Caitlin says. "We had many friends and family question our decision to have our events split up and many not being able to attend the ceremony. But our wedding and experience was just perfect, and we wouldn’t have changed a thing."
