A Refined, Rustic Wedding at Sinkland Farms in Christiansburg, Virginia

Jessica Lucas (27 and an administrator for New York University) and Jeremy Setton (30 and a radiation oncology resident) chose Sinkland Farms in Christiansburg, Virginia, for their wedding day based on its stunning location and views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The natural beauty of their backdrop meant they added little decor to their alfresco ceremony, letting the views speak for themselves. They kept things very neutral and used more textures than color, especially wood, to pull off their refined rustic aesthetic. A U-shaped table at the reception allowed Jessica and Jeremy to have a family-style meal where everything—even the wine—was shared and passed around. "A family-style meal was the perfect representation of our personalities," Jessica says. "We wanted something more intimate that allowed us to be with our guests. We both love our families dearly, and there are few things more enjoyable than sharing a meal together. It also gave our families and our friends a chance to really get to know one another." —Meghan Overdeep
